About Us

Bexorg is a cutting-edge biotech startup focused on CNS drug discovery, leveraging its proprietary BrainEx platform to conduct preclinical studies on human and porcine brains. We combine advanced wet-lab experiments with AI/ML-driven drug discovery through our XO Digital platform to revolutionize the understanding and treatment of brain disorders. We are seeking a Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist with deep expertise in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, to contribute to our groundbreaking R&D efforts.

The Job

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Scientist/Principal Scientist to lead key research and drug discovery programs. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s or other neurodegenerative disease biology. This is a full-time, on-site position requiring physical presence in our state-of-the-art facilities to conduct hands-on research and collaborate directly with cross-functional teams.

Essential Duties/Tasks:

  • Lead scientific programs focused on identifying and validating new drug targets for neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Oversee the design and execution of in vitro and in vivo studies to understand disease mechanisms, target biology, and drug response.
  • Drive drug discovery programs using small molecules, biologics, or other therapeutic modalities from hit identification through lead optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, and computational biology, to advance drug discovery projects.
  • Apply cutting-edge techniques in neuroscience, including molecular biology, genetics, and advanced imaging to elucidate disease mechanisms and assess therapeutic approaches.
  • Manage external collaborations with academic institutions, CROs, and industry partners.
  • Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance and leadership across the research team.
  • Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and contribute to the company’s overall strategy for neurodegenerative disease research.
  • Present findings and progress to senior leadership, partners, and at scientific conferences.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field with 5+ years of post-doctoral and/or industry experience.
  • Deep expertise in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS, etc., with a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Hands-on experience with drug discovery, including target validation, lead optimization, and preclinical development.
  • Proficiency in techniques such as cell-based assays, in vivo models, CRISPR, transcriptomics, proteomics, and imaging technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor scientific teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to design innovative experiments and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting data to internal and external audiences.
  • Experience managing collaborations with external research partners and CROs is a plus.

Preferred Skills, Qualifications, or Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience with neuroinflammation, synaptic biology, or neuroimmune interactions.
  • Familiarity with drug modalities including small molecules, antibodies, or gene therapies.
  • Understanding of regulatory and preclinical development processes.

What We Offer:

  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of neuroscience and drug discovery.
  • Collaborative work environment with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Competitive compensation package including stock options.
