We are seeking an innovative neuroscientist to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the central nervous system, with core proficiency in brain cellular and molecular biology, cerebral circulation, neurodegeneration, ion channel biology, neural circuits and cell metabolism. This role demands proficiency in tissue analysis, generating and interpreting omics-datasets ​​and using disease-relevant experimental models. As part of our team, you will lead and contribute to projects aimed at understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying brain health and diseases and identifying potential therapeutic targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct innovative research studies focused on elucidating the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases using various techniques in molecular biology, biochemistry and neurophysiology.
  • Lead the development and validation of molecular pipelines for health and disease models.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance research projects, including neurosurgeons, molecular scientists, and bioinformaticians.
  • Analyze and interpret experimental data, ensuring high standards of quality and reproducibility.
  • Communicate findings effectively through internal reports, presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Stay up to date with the latest scientific advancements in neurobiology and neurodegenerative disease research and incorporate innovative approaches into research strategies.
  • Mentor and supervise junior scientists and research associates, fostering a collaborative and inclusive lab environment.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Molecular Neuroscience, Neurobiology, or a closely related field, with a strong emphasis on neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Postdoctoral experience or equivalent in a relevant research setting, preferably in industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a range of neurobiological techniques, including but not limited to, multi-omics, tissue analysis, imaging, molecular and cellular biology and neuroanatomy.
  • Experience with large mammalian brain studies is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record of scientific achievements, as evidenced by first-author publications in high-impact journals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and execute complex experiments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
  • Collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
